UPCLOSE: THE HISTORY BEHIND U.S. OF US by Venus Leone

Lyrics by Venus Leone (Vanessa Spinetti)

Do you!
Sarcastic!
Be You!
Interesting!
Why you?
Do me! See?
Ironically, that’s how you’re supposed to be.
Don’t move!
Wind ain’t blowing!
No change
if you ain’t thinking.
Sacrifice
realize
perverse
controversy…
Sexy! Sexy!
Pretend, don’t worry.
We can do it your way.
Yes, yes, yes… whatever you say!
Love on my knees
I know it’s what you want
Behind the meaning of trust
Come hard on me
No gloves… hush!
Freestyle your lust!
Hold on!
I didn’t know I couldn’t talk about the U.S. of us.
Do me!
Romantic!

Be me!

Domestic!
Why me?!
Won’t do you, see?
Ironically, this is how you’re supposed to be.

eYe wrote these words down in a different set up than when I turned them into lyrics for U.S. of Us. My poetry is like a painting: One can interpret a personal emotion that may not have anything to do with how the artist felt while creating the piece. If being alone was a sin, I would be guilty, but in my solitude I create. As most of my kind I fall in love with the so called "wrong ones". Being a fighter instead of looking for the right one I settle for the hurt ones and so they end up hurting me. Life is probably not easy to anyone. I cope with the Arts. When I feel like I cannot take it anymore something takes me.

This song is very sarcastic, controversial. There are 2 different people in L.A. and probably the word: The opportunists and the faithful. Most people have to work hard in life in one way or the other.
